Session Introduction

Since 1994, the Foundation has been conducting various projects to inherit the May 18 Spirit. Especially the foundation started international affairs projects, such as the Gwangju Prize for Human Rights and the Gwangju Democracy Forum in 2000, and has made an effort to globalize the May 18 Uprising and enhance democracy, human rights, and peace in the world. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Foundation, we will look at the past international programs and explore the direction of the Foundation's international projects in the future. This session is organized in collaboration with , which conducted a research project on compiling the International projects’ documents and how to develop the Foundation's international projects in 2023.
